The Gew

Built in 1862 by Thomas Lean, a retired mining engineer and publisher of ’Leans Engine Reporter’, The Gew, like Trevarthian House is a beautiful large detached Grade 2 listed building. It is situated in its own grounds with gardens to the front and rear and has spectacular views facing St Michaels Mount and the sea. It is directly opposite the large sandy beach of Mounts Bay, which is approximately fifty yards away, and a two-minute walk from Marazion centre. Situated on the main road of Marazion and the seafront, The Gew is easily accessible to visitors, while the private driveway and gardens allow the buildings to be set back into an atmosphere of peace and privacy.

The accommodation on-site is split between seven apartments in the original Victorian building and a further six developed in the post-war era. The apartments are self contained and refurbished to a very high standard. There is an office and free laundry on-site as well as a large private car park shared with Trevarthian House guests. The nearest bus stop is at the end of the drive.

All the apartments are self-contained and fully equipped with brand new televisions, video/DVD players, cookers, fridges & microwaves. The flats have also just been fitted with new carpets, beds, kitchen units, shower rooms, furniture & suites.
